Ambassador of Tajikistan in Iran met with The SBMU Chancellor

Ambassador of Tajikistan in Iran, Student Affairs Officer of Tajikistan Embassy, and Secretary of that Embassy met with Dr. Peyvandi, SBMU Chancellor and Dr. Naqib Zadeh, Vice-Chancellor in International Affairs. Dr. Peyvandi hoped that the meeting would open a new window to further research, cultural and educational collaborations in the near future. Then, he gave a general overview of the university capabilities, performances and scientific activities. He stated that the SBMU with more than 12000 students in 230 majors in 12 affiliated schools is one of the biggest medical universities in Iran. Moreover, this university is responsible to provide health and treatment needs of more than five million population in 17 active hospitals in Tehran.

Student admission in different higher levels of education according to students’ interests, in particular fellowship programs which are in process at the moment, was one of the important discussion topics in this meeting.
