Director of Research Center in Karbala and the Iraqi delegation met with SBMU Vice-chancellor in International Affairs
The SBMU Vice-chancellor hosted Mr. Abdol Amir Aziz Al-qoraishi, Director of Research Center in Karbala, and the Iraqi delegation accompanying him.
The meeting was held with the presence of Dr. Naqib zadeh, Vice-chancellor in International Affairs, Dr. Ali Haeri, Advisor of the Vice-chancellor in International Affairs, Dr. Ghareh Baghian, Director of University to International Advancement, Dr. Kazem Dalayee, Director ofAccreditationandrankings and Dr. Rahimi, Director of the SBMU International Branch.
The Iraqi delegation consisting of Mr. Abdol Amir Aziz Al-Qoraishi, Dr. Ali Taregh, Dr. Mohammad Atieh Al-Seraj, Dr. Shaker Faleh, Dr. Riaz Kazem Al-Jamili, Dr. Mahdi Vahab Al-Nasrollah, Mr. Amar Fazel Al-Karbasi accompanied Dr. Zahedeh Ahmad Dakhil, Cultural Advisor of Iraq Embassy in Iran.
At first, Dr. Naqib Zadeh welcomed all guests and referred to cultural similarities between Iran and Iraq as an opportunity to develop interaction and collaboration. Then, university capabilities and facilities were discussed by Dr. Ghareh Baghian and Dr. Haeri. Afterwards, the SBMU officials explained about possibilities of further effective collaboration between the two countries.
They followed the meeting with discussions on details of majors in SBMU to serve the purpose of foreign student admission including Iraqi applicants in 2015-2016. They emphasized the issue of student admission in medical and para medical majors for short term and long term courses as well as conducting collaborative research projects.
In the end, the draft copy of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for collaboration between the two centers was prepared for further examination and evaluation to be signed by both sides later.
Also, the Iraqi side of this MOU agreed to inform SBMU about their short and long term educational needs and requirements.
