Iran and Hungary Strengthen Cooperation in Cancer Research

the president of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, visited the National Institute of Oncology in Hungary.

According to an official report from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a significant step to enhance cancer treatment in both Iran and Hungary, a delegation led by Dr. Alireza Zali, the president of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, visited the National Institute of Oncology in Hungary. This visit, which took place in September, resulted in important agreements to expand scientific and research collaborations in the field of oncology between the two countries.


During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of cooperation in various areas, including joint research projects in cancer epidemiology, novel treatment methods, and cancer genetics. Additionally, the establishment of student and faculty exchange programs between the two countries was agreed upon to enhance the scientific level of Iranian and Hungarian experts.
The National Institute of Oncology in Hungary, as one of the leading centers in Europe, has achieved significant advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment through the use of advanced technologies and personalized approaches. The institute, known for its precise diagnostic services, targeted therapies, and extensive research, serves as a model for other medical centers worldwide.
Dr. Alireza Zali, the president of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, emphasized the importance of international cooperation in the field of medicine, especially oncology, and expressed hope that these collaborations would improve the condition of cancer patients and enhance the level of treatment in both countries. He also stressed the importance of exchanging knowledge and experiences between experts from
both countries.


Mr. Morteza Moradian, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Hungary, in his speech, considered scientific and research cooperation in the field of oncology as a significant step towards improving the level of treatment and health in both countries. He  emphasized the importance of these collaborations for sustainable development and scientific progress in Iran and Hungary.

Based on the positive outcomes of this visit, it was decided to continue the relations between Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and the National Institute of Oncology in Hungary, and in the near future, joint specialized working groups will be formed to follow up and implement research and educational projects.
This joint cooperation can be a significant step towards scientific and therapeutic progress in the field of oncology for both countries.
