In a meeting attended by the directors of the Gastroenterology and Liver Institute, the President of the University of Szeged and the accompanying delegation, which was held on September 24, 2023, the capacities and measures of this institute were explained to the Hungarian parties.

Dr. Ali Reza Zali, Founder and the Head of Gastroenterology and Liver Research Institute of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, while clarifying the infrastructures of this institute declared: “In addition to 28 faculty members, 56 doctoral and post-doctoral students, 76 students, 26 researchers, this institution has 50 beds and scientific-research activities and significant measures in the field of diagnosis and treatment. For example, in our two endoscopy departments we perform more than 15,000 endoscopies annually.

He continued: We conduct many field visits with the World Health Organization and also our central laboratory is active during epidemics.

While expressing his satisfaction with the powerful structure and systems of this institution, Dr. Laszlo Rowe suggested that according to the reports presented by the directors of different departments, there are many fields of cooperation, including research and clinical, which they hope to be able to strengthen their partnerships and  relations with Iranian party and realize joint projects in the future.

It should be noted that in this meeting the directors of different parts of this research institute presented a report of their actions in the fields of cell biology, cell therapy, cell therapy, diagnosis and treatment of cancer, especially gastrointestinal cancers, genetics, celiac disease, and autoimmune diseases.

At the end of this meeting the President of Szeged University and his accompanying delegation visited different departments, sectors, and laboratories of this institute.
