Message from the University President Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences

International Volunteer Day – December 5, 2025

On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, Dr. Mohammad Esmail Qaidari, President of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, stated in an interview with the Public Relations Office: “For more than three decades, our integrated health system has benefited greatly from public participation through community‑oriented programs. Health volunteers and health ambassadors are essential links connecting the health system with the people.”

He added: “One of our strategic priorities is strengthening national self-care and improving public health literacy. Integrating essential care practices into comprehensive domestic health services is a turning point for improving health at home, in schools, workplaces, and rural areas. This progress is only possible through the informed and voluntary participation of the public.”

Dr. Qaidari emphasized: “A true reflection of justice in the health sector requires raising public awareness and literacy. Fair access to health services depends on individuals understanding the value of volunteerism and adopting practices that support and improve their own health, as well as the health of their families and communities.”

He highlighted this year’s global theme, ‘Every Contribution Matters,’ and noted: “From my perspective, this year’s slogan is: “The path to health needs companions, be part of this mission.” Calling everyone to join this national movement is a meaningful step toward progress. Our university proudly supports cultural engagement in health in many forms.”

He reaffirmed the university’s commitment: “Every single effort and sincere act of partnership in health holds great value and creates lasting impact. Our university is honored to collaborate with community health liaisons, ambassadors, People’s Participation Houses in Health, philanthropists, and student organizations. Together, we strive to foster empathy, synergy, and public alignment toward achieving healthier lifestyles.”

Dr. Qaidari concluded: “Active cooperation among individuals from all walks of life, as well as the support of leaders and officials, in implementing health‑promoting programs will help us build a brighter, healthier, and stronger future for Iran.”
