Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences Ranked Among Top 1000 Global Universities
Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU) has been ranked in the 800–900 range among the world’s top 1000 universities, according to the latest results released by the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
Among domestic universities, SBMU holds 2nd place in medical sciences and 4th overall.
Since 2003, the Academic Ranking of World Universities has published annual rankings of the world’s leading universities based on objective indicators and third-party data. ARWU is widely recognized as a pioneer in global university rankings and one of the most trusted sources for evaluating academic excellence.
ARWU evaluates universities using six key indicators:
- Number of alumni and staff awarded Nobel Prizes and Fields Medals
- Number of articles published in Nature and Science
- Number of Highly Cited Researchers selected by Clarivate
- Number of articles indexed in the Science Citation Index – Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index
- Per capita academic performance of the institution
More than 2,500 universities are assessed annually, with the top 1000 published each year.
