Eighty researchers and faculty members from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (SBMU) have been recognized among the world's top 2% most-cited scientists, according to a prestigious list released by Stanford University.
This global ranking highlights the exceptional contributions of SBMU scholars to scientific research. Notable names on the list include Dr. Zarghi, Vice President of Research and Technology; Dr. Rezaei Tavirani, Director of Research Affairs; Dr. Akbari, Director of the Cancer Research Center; and Dr. Bashaash, Head of the Clinical Research Committee.
Stanford University's "World’s Top 2% Scientists" list is based on a percentile rank of 2% or higher, or inclusion among the top 100,000 researchers by c-score (with and without self-citations). The ranking uses standardized metrics such as citation counts, h-index, and other bibliometric indicators. Researchers are categorized across 22 scientific fields and 174 subfields, using Scopus data provided by Elsevier through the ICSR Lab.

The number of SBMU researchers featured in this elite group has shown consistent growth over the past three years:
