MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN XXXXXXXXX UNIVERSITY, XXXXX AND SHAHID BEHESHTI UNIVERSITY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES, IRAN This Memorandum of Understanding aims to foster international collaboration between XXXXXX University, XXXX, represented by Dr. XXXX XXXX, the Rector/ Chancellor, located at address xxxx, xxxx, xxxx (Hereinafter referred to as "xxxx"), and Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences, Iran represented by Dr. xxxxxx xxxxx, Chancellor address at Arabi Ave, Daneshjou Blvd, Tehran Province, Islamic Republic of Iran, (Hereinafter referred to as "SBUMS").
The purpose of this MoU is to establish academic, educational, research and technology collaborations between the two institutes, to cooperate for a range of higher educational and research activities, which both sides may jointly identify areas of mutual interest and carry out cooperative activities on the basis of reciprocity and mutual benefit. The Parties have reached the following understanding:
Paragraph 1: Joint Educational Programs The parties decide to implement an exchange program for students, research staff and academic members. Including certificate based, degree based, as well residency and PhD programs in fields of basic science, clinical sciences and pharmacological research. Fields of interest include: Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Drug Development as well as Lung Diseases, Endocrine & Metabolism, Gastroenterology and liver Diseases and Covid Experience Exchanges.
Paragraph 2: Joint Research Projects Collaboration in research-related activities will be organized in areas of mutual interest
Paragraph 3: Provision of Basic Healthcare Services The involved Parties mutually commit to fostering the exchange of knowledge and information related to primary healthcare matters, accomplishments, and advancements in the enhancement of healthcare personnel, as well as the provision of advisory and managerial support services. Paragraph 4: Exchange of Academic Staff The Parties will develop a mechanism for exchange of academic staff for mutual benefit of both sides.
Paragraph 5: Exchange of Resources in Education and Research The Parties will provide available facilities and undertake local managements needed for the effective conduct of specific activities as may be defined in a work plan to be jointly evolved by the parties.
Paragraph 6: Exchange of Students The Parties will promote exchange of students for short-term and long-term studies in fields of mutual interest.
Paragraph 7: Exchange of Information Exchange of technical data and information relating to fields of mutual interest with respect to the laws of both countries.
Paragraph 8: Faculty Members Visits The Parties will make every reasonable effort to establish joint programs. The Parties will support arrangement for such visits. Paragraph 9: Knowledge Partnerships Collaboration in the creation and advancement of knowledge-based enterprises within specified domains. Paragraph 10: Scientific Synergy Conducting collaborative webinars and scientific assemblies, as well as expediting the publication of scholarly articles.
Paragraph 11: Implementation and Funding Each party will designate one officer who will regularly exchange information to identify priorities for cooperation on the field of mutual interest.
Paragraph 12: Intellectual Properties Both institutions will ensure that any results and publications originating from this collaboration will be available for the two sides and will be published as a joint work with the name of both institutions included.
Paragraph 13: Amendments and Disputes Settlement
This Memorandum of Understanding may be amended by written agreement signed by the representatives of both universities. Any dispute arising out of the interpretation and/or implementation of this Memorandum of Understanding shall be settled amicably in good faith through consultation or negotiation between the universities without reference to any third party or any international tribunal.
Paragraph 14: Legal Statute
This MoU will be carried within the framework of the respective laws and regulations of the two countries and is not intended to create any legal binding rights or obligations.
Paragraph 15: Duration, Renewal and Termination of MoU
This Memorandum of Understanding will come into effect immediately after signature by the representatives of both Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and Management and XXXX University for a period of 5 years. The MoU may be renewed upon mutual written consent by both universities at least SIX (6) months prior to the date of termination. Any modification to the present agreement shall be undertaken by mutual decision in writing and any new changes will start on a date agreed by both universities. Either university may terminate this MOU by giving SIX (6) months’ notices in writing. Termination of the agreement is subject to finalization of decided common projects and activities. This MoU comprising of a preamble and 15 paragraphs was signed in duplicate in Persian and English languages, at Tehran on 28/10/2025, corresponding to 06/08/1404 all of which are equally valid.
